If you know me for more than 2 years, you would know that I’m not just a performing musician, but I am a deep thinker. Most of these thoughts eventually find their way to into songs, but sometimes i write blogs or articles for publications to express what’s in my heart. Here’s what’s been in my heart for a while.
Africa my home
When i was growing up in music, musicians weren’t conscious of ethnic differences. That might seem absurd to you, but it’s my truth. It’s my reality. All we knew was the language of music. We played together-much like children play on a playground. You were either good or not so good. Music has always been a way to unite people especially on a stage, often transcendental. As musicians, we have to constantly remember this…that the reason we started on this journey was to express what’s on the inside of us…That we should not allow how people see us on the outside to affect what is precious on the inside. Only we have that power. I wrote Africa my home about little while ago…it’s my heart. check it out:
